  • June – September

Program

Full-day hike along two rivers – Loja and Gauja. We start to hike where these two rivers meet and continue to the Devil’s Cave. We see magnificent sandstone outcrops along the Loja River. A wild path leads us through the woods and steep bluffs. At lunchtime we make a stop, to have home-made sandwiches and hot tea/coffee.

We visit a bobsleigh track from the 20th century which has a wonderful story about a man who devoted his life to this sport. At the turning point towards Gauja River, we walk through a small village that has preserved its Soviet looks till nowadays. On the way back to our starting point we hike along the Gauja River which is the longest river in Latvia.
