Program
Join our hiking tour from Riga. This hike brings you to a romantic seaside with fine sand and relaxing pine tree forests. The old fishermen’s villages at the Riga Bay area are hidden gems that lie behind the dunes and are waiting for you to be discovered. The second part of the hike brings you through almost untouched forests to the Lake Kaņieris.
What is waiting for you on this hike? Coastal villages Ragaciems, Lapmežciems and Bigauņciems with fishermen’s houses and boats on the shore, a meditative walk through the forest, spectacular view from the observation tower, Lake Kaņieris surrounded by reeds, birds and fish. And… a lot of fresh air!

When and where
The meeting point is at Ragaciems bus stop at 10:30 AM. The hike starts and ends at the same point. Return back to Riga around 5 PM from Ragaciems.
Transportation
You have two options – bus, and your own car. The bus to Ragaciems departs at 9:20 AM from Riga Bus Station and arrives in Ragaciems at 10:23 AM (2,50 € one way ticket). If you come by your own car, you can park it near the bus stop – there is free parking.
!IMPORTANT!
The safety measures during the tour:
- Please keep a distance of 2 metres;
- Wear a mouth and nose covering when in public gathering;
- Disinfect or wash your hands before and after touching any surfaces in public places;
- On the tour are not allowed persons who have to be in quarantine or are having symptoms like fever, and other signs of acute infection.

How to dress
Please, dress accordingly to the weather forecast! Due to very changeable weather, layering is key to enjoying the hike, and rain protection is a must-have. Any comfortable shoes or sandals are good enough for this hike.
Level of dificulty
A quite easy hike. Mostly small foot paths through the woods as well as walking along the beach.

My wife and I had a wonderful time visiting Lithuania with the help of our guide Grazina. She was very knowledgeable about the places we visited, several of which were ‘off the beaten path’. Also, our local specialist Ieva arranged local guides for other places we visited such as the Open Air Museum of Lithuania, my grandfather’s village Zemaiciu Naumeistas, and the city of Kleipeda.

My cousin and I had a great experience in Lithuania! Our tour guide Minda was fantastic and made the trip a special experience for us. We called him our Guardian Angel. As we drove or walked he gave us such great historical and cultural information just as we wanted. He felt like a friend or relative and was so comfortable to spend time with. We highly recommend him.
Leva did a great job helping us with our itinerary. I told her some places we wanted to go and the types of experiences we were looking for and she organized it perfectly for us. When I asked for some changes or soecial requirements like air conditioning she came through. Our only disappointment was not finding Kugelis! We found a dish that was very close though and enjoyed all of our meals. I will recommend Leva and Kimkimtravel to my fellow travelers!
